This Cookie Policy explains how The Marketing Clinic uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on themarketingclinic.org.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise you on return visits and remember preferences or attribution data.
What we use
Essential cookies
Required for the site to function. We set a session-level cookie for cookie banner state and a 90-day first-party cookie (tmc_attribution) that stores marketing attribution data (utm_source, utm_campaign, fbclid, gclid, msclkid) so we can correctly attribute consultation enquiries to the channel that drove them.
Attribution capture relies on legitimate interest groundsunder PDPA and GDPR Article 6(1)(f) — it's minimally invasive (no personal identifiers, purely click-source data) and necessary for our marketing measurement.
Analytics cookies (with consent)
Google Analytics 4 sets _ga and related cookies to measure page views and aggregate user behaviour. These are only set after you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner.
No advertising cookies set by us
TMC does not set third-party advertising cookies directly. Click IDs we capture (fbclid, gclid) are passed to ad platforms during conversion events only — they are not used to retarget you on our own behalf.
Managing cookies
You can manage cookie preferences at any time:
- Re-open the cookie banner by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
- Disable cookies entirely via your browser settings (note: some functionality may be impacted).
